Virginia Nomsa Mkaza - Managing Director of ACETE

Virginia Nomsa Mkaza, managing Director of ACETE, is a Social Development Practitioner whose engagement with communities runs deep. She has worked extensively with various (sectors) Departments in National, Provincial and Local government levels. She worked on International level with the World Bank, Unicef, and United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP)and European Union.

Nomsa’s work focuses on education, training and capacity building, community development, skills development, and research and reviews.

Some of ACETE’s (her)major assignments include research and reviews for the National Department of Housing, the BoTT (build, operate, train and transfer) programmed for the Department of Water Affairs (DWA), and the review of the five-year of Expanded Community-based Public Works programme (EPWP) projects in Eastern Cape.

She has also been involved in various socio-economic impact studies and has managed and facilitated various projects at both local and national level.

Nomsa holds a MA Ed from Manchester University (UK), BA Ed and Sociology from the National University of Lesotho, and several diplomas including Water and Sanitation Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology in Leicestershire  (UK), Health Education from Leeds University (UK) and International Development from Oslo University, Norway.
